INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (July 30, 2009) - 1000 Generations recently wrapped up a 13-city radio tour that began July 20, visiting stations across the Midwest to promote the August 4 national release of their highly anticipated worship album, Turn Off The Lesser Lights. Band members Steven and Amanda Potaczek hit multiple stations each day, giving interviews to discuss the driving passion behind the new project and their inspiration that birthed the lyrics.
"It was a crazy week. We found ourselves driving to radio stations while calling other stations from the road. I think our promotions manager was trying to make the 'Guinness Book of World Records.' With over 1600 miles logged in 3 days!" says Steven.
Chris Hauser, the band's radio promotions manager, spent the week on the road with the Potaczeks, with stops that included Chicago, Grand Rapids, Indianapolis, and Louisville.
"Steven and Amanda were incredibly giving during their promo tour last week. They prayed for radio folks and found many kindred spirits along the way. I've done countless promo tours in 23 years of this work - this was one of the most grueling! Their early morning and late night performances were stellar and magical. I feel like I've found friends for life," says Hauser.
While the days were packed with media interviews and meetings, the Potazceks spent their evenings doing worship events to give fans and music lovers alike a taste of the powerful songs on Turn Off The Lesser Lights. One of the most memorable moments of the tour came in South Bend, IN, where the duo gave a special performance for those whose have lost their jobs as a result of the economic downturn.
Amanda was particuarly moved by the show saying, "It was awesome to provide people with a fun night of music and worship. It was especially moving to sing the song "Fail Us Not" as they declared that, even in the midst of their desperate circumstances, God will not fail them."
